Best Hot Stone Massage!
Had the most relaxing hot stone massage from Whitney, who was very lovely and eased all the tension in my shoulders - will be coming back! :)
Nice hotel, comfy beds and clean rooms, breakfast needs a bit of TLC.
Lovely hotel, really clean and comfortable rooms, good nights sleep but unfortunately the breakfast was a shambles!! Need more staff and to be aware of numbers staying in hotel not to run out of food items when there is still an hour and a half of breakfast time to go. Lots of disgruntled guests.
Hotel Great, Restaurant Not.
Hotel and staff were excellent. Restaurant was disappointing, On what was a limited menu anyway, we were advised 2 starters were not available, both seafood, 4 main courses were not available. Our stay included the meal on our first night. Had that not been the case we would have considered not eating there.
Great stay, service needs tweaking
Very nice hotel, great public areas, rooms, facilities and gardens in an ideal location. Menu was good but we expected it to be more adventurous than it was. Bar service was very slow, as was restaurant service. Overall a good experience.
A peaceful 2 night stay
We had an excellent, peaceful 2 night stay here on our way home from Wales. Our stay included a meal on the first night with a complimentary bottle of wine. The menu choice was very good and we both enjoyed what we ordered. The hotel is very nice and comfortable in all the areas that we used and the staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Very good for accessing either Gloucester or Cheltenham which are both within a short distance. We would definitely stay again if in the area.
Loved it
Loved it. Nice big room, lovely bed. Food good and staff very welcoming and friendly. Will be back and wish the hotel was closer!
Lovely hotel in a beautiful location.
The hotel is in a beautiful location just on the outskirts of the Cotswolds . Our room was a lovely size , very spacious, clean and nice and cool during the hot weather . Our stay at the hotel gave us a nice base to travel from to Bath on one day , into Wales another day and a lovely visit to nearby Tewkesbury . Wouldn’t mind visiting the area again to explore some more .
A super hotel
I am full of praise for this hotel. First and foremost, I was impressed with the spacious bedroom with a very comfortable bed. I was at the hotel during the heatwave and the air con not only cooled the room perfectly, but it made no noise when it was switched on. The bathroom was also spot on. The swimming pool, jacuzzi etc are also high quality; they might want to have a look, however, at the lockers’ system in the changing room, as it wasn’t easy to navigate. My friends and I very much enjoyed the evening meal in the restaurant - good quality food and friendly, helpful service by the waitresses. Breakfast options covered all bases very well. The croissants were excellent. The one thing that was not good was the coffee which was weak and fairly tasteless. There is plenty of parking available and the location is ideal for short drives to Cheltenham town centre, picturesque Cotswolds villages and lovely walks. I would definitely return for another visit.
Great hotel in a beautiful location
Lovely hotel and in a great location. Room was absolute bliss during the hottest day this year. Room was also humongous and had everything you could possibly need and want from a hotel room. Breakfast was also wonderful. Really enjoyed my stay. Will hopefully stay again and make use of the spa facilities.
A very pleasant break !
We met two friends for a short break at the hotel. We had a very pleasant stay, the room was fine, the AC was silent and very effective, the staff we're all so pleasant it would be unfair to single an individual out, although the Housekeepers seemed so very busy I don't know how they coped and remained so pleasant. The breakfasts were lovely. Thank you one and all.
Relaxing and comfortable
The staff is very friendly. The classic rooms are very spacious and comfortable and they have been newly refurbished. The food (dinner) in the restaurant was excellent. However the lunch in the lounge was too oily for a pasta dish but it had good taste. At breakfast, they did not provide cheese but they brought a slice for me when I requested it. The best bit was the air conditioned room during the heatwave. A big thank you to Gemma who gave me a wonderful back massage. The jacuzzi/ swimming pool area is small and can get busy but ok during off peak times. The cleaners did not freshen my room even though I left a sign outside my door. It would have been good if they just emptied the bins.
An excellent place to stay briefly, unless you prefer good food.
Almost all aspects of our stay were favourable: efficiency, comfortable room and relaxing outside areas with countryside, plenty of parking with some ev charging provision, all excellent. There was also easy access to the M5 , & a bus stop outside to Cheltenham or Gloucester. There was also a Toby carvery next door, which was great, as our hotel meal the first night was our only disappointment. The menu looked good but it was in fact nothing special, & twice the price of the carvery the following night. Best of all though, while temperatures soared above 30° the air conditioning was superb!
Nice Stay
Lovely hotel in a great location. It has a indoor pool that is very nice. Breakfast was delicious. The fields behind the hotel are great to walk and many paths around the area. Highly recommend to other travelers.
Lovely hotel
Brilliant. Staff friendly. Place clean and has aircon. Very important this year. Lovely spa and pool. Easy car parking. Great breakfasts
Truly a 5 Star Hotel.
Very nice stay. Room big with air conditioning and a fridge which was much needed in the heatwave we experienced. It was spotlessly clean and we were well looked after by the cleaning staff. It was also very quiet so we were able to sleep well. The Catering manageress was absolutely brilliant caring for me with a food allergy. The meals were excellent for both of us and nothing was too much trouble. The rest of the hotel staff, front of house and all we met, were equally as helpful. The grounds were clean and tidy and car parking was easy with plenty of space and secure. As we were visiting with a vintage car group this was important. Could not find anything to fault. Thanks go to everyone at the hotel.
Great relaxing break
As soon as we arrived we were greeted nicely and given the information needed and were checked in. The room was fantastic, large, clean and really well equipped, the bed was huge and very comfortable, we had a nice view and the bathroom was clean and roomy. The spa was lovely and we had a lovely relax in there . We had a nice couple of drinks in the bar and watched the football. The breakfast in the morning was really nice with plenty of choice. Overall we had a great stay and will definitely revisit
Lovely people
Had a lovely couple of days at the Cheltenham chase, nice location, smashing room felt like a VIP and very friendly staff. Really relaxed by the time we left
Couple nights away .
Lovely hotel, friendly efficient staff, comfy bed, working aircon, excellent breakfast. I felt the evening meals in the restaurant let the hotel down. Overcooked lamb first night and small piece of hake on a couple crushed potatoes with one broccoli stem the second. Expensive for what I got.
Good
Location ideal as just off A46. Atmosphere on entry was lovely and stylish. Room was brilliant! Value was brilliant! Cleanliness of room, great, spa and pool needed some tlc. Other guests noisy in corridors. Service good. Reception kind and welcoming. Bar great. Spa and pool, odd... we had treatments booked, they didn't make me feel like they knew what was going on. Told us there were mixed messages coming from the kitchen re food and did a pool test whilst we paid.... slightly unprofessional in saying "oh I wish they'd told us" When we said we'd spoken to the Spa manager.... Amenities good, we used the spa, pool and had massages. Ladies in treatment rooms upstairs were INCREDIBLE!!
Fantastic Accessibility, Great Food, and Attentive Staff
We booked our stay almost a year ago and were pleasantly surprised! As a wheelchair user in an accessible room, I found the facilities fantastic. Check-in was smooth; the desk is high, but staff thoughtfully provided a clipboard to sign paperwork. Our ground-floor room (Room 18) was clean and spacious enough to park and charge my wheelchair overnight while still moving comfortably. The bathroom featured a roll-in shower with a seat, a red pull cord, and a left-side drop-down transfer rail by the toilet. Note: the bed is standard hotel height with no pull cord or bedside sockets (ample sockets exist opposite the bed, which was fine for us). They also provide a vibrating under-pillow emergency alarm. Spa access was great. I rode to the changing room—which has a fully accessible roll-in shower/seat and toilet with rails—and used my walking stick to reach the pool. However, please note there are no transfer aids or hoists for the pool or hot tub. The food was fantastic! Any minor issues were rectified quickly, professionally, and apologetically. The staff were incredibly attentive and considerate throughout our visit. We had a truly wonderful stay and will definitely be returning next year!
